Lindisfarne Gospels. In the Dark Ages after the fall of
Rome, Irish monks transcribed the Holy Bible, interspersing
beautiful artwork with their transcription, and basing new
Celtic Christian art on older pagan Celtic art. Most
Celtic manuscripts were written by several monks. The
Lindisfarne Gospel is unique in that it was created by the
skilled hands of one monk, who eventually rose to become the
Bishop of Lindisfarne. Our journal based on his art
is functional and beautiful.
